Säntis is a traditional-style raw milk cheese inspired by Appenzeller, one of the iconic cheeses of eastern Switzerland and the region where the Grison family’s cheesemaking heritage began.

Aged for a minimum of 60 days, Säntis develops a deeper, more distinctive flavor than a young cheese while retaining the rich character of the milk. It’s a fantastic choice for someone wanting to venture beyond everyday cheddar and experience a traditional European-style farmstead cheese.

Slice it for a cheeseboard, pair it with bread and fruit, melt it, or simply eat it by the wedge.

Made in the Missouri Ozarks

Grison Dairy & Creamery was founded in 1997 by Swiss immigrants who brought their family’s European dairy traditions to the Missouri Ozarks. Today, the family raises Holstein and Brown Swiss cows on their farm near Ava, Missouri, emphasizing pasture and producing much of their own forage.

Their cheesemaking roots run especially deep. Grison’s cheesemaker trained in Switzerland through a traditional cheesemaking apprenticeship before bringing that knowledge back to the family dairy in Missouri.

The result is something pretty special: small-batch Missouri cheese with genuine Swiss roots, made just a few hours from us.
